I started my career commissioning gas turbines for Alstom — on-site at power plants across multiple countries, learning the hard way that good control narratives and clear engineering documentation are the difference between a smooth commissioning and a disaster.

Over the next 15 years, I worked across hydro power in Australia (Snowy Hydro), turbomachinery controls in the oil & gas sector (Tri-Sen), safety-critical systems for theme park rides (Universal Creative — the Harry Potter ride in Beijing, SIL 3), embedded firmware for battery manufacturing (Redwood Materials), ride control at Disney World, and PLC modernization for water treatment facilities (InflexionPoint).

Along the way, I noticed that the hardest, most time-consuming part of controls engineering isn't the PLC programming — it's the documentation. Control narratives that take 2–3 weeks. IO lists that get out of sync. Functional specifications that nobody updates. I started experimenting with AI to tackle this problem, and what I found surprised me: with the right domain knowledge guiding the AI, you can produce professional-quality controls documentation in hours instead of weeks.
